Gardening with
Daylilies
Nate Bremer, owner of Solaris Farms
in Reedsville will present a free program at the
Daylilies are many gardeners’
favorite plant. They are easy to
grow perennials that are prolific, colorful bloomers, and relatively free of
pests and disease. Daylilies grow
in most soils, sun or light shade, and are tolerant of drought and flooding.
They can range in height from 8 inches to 5 feet, and the flower can be as small
as 2 inches or as large as 8 inches.
Nate has a Degree in Horticulture
and specializes in hybridizing daylilies. He grows thousands of daylilies on his

The

addition to the Money Smart U programs, FDL Public Library staff will create a
Money Smart “neighborhood” within the library, an area that combines comfortable
seating with materials of all types, including books, DVDs, audio books,
magazines, and other information. A
virtual neighborhood will also be created at the library’s online branch at www.FDLPL.org. The virtual Money Smart neighborhood
will provide links to FINRA investor education modules, electronic
subscriptions, and other financial resources that will be accessible 24/7 to
area residents.
FDLPL will provide regular updates
through press releases and on the library website on the progress of the project
and as programs are made available.

The 2009
Fifteen programs have been planned
to celebrate FDL Reads including a
down-home country Chili Supper and performance by Jerry Apps at
UW-FDL on Thursday, March 19, Dinner-6 pm; Program-7 pm. Dinner tickets are now available at the
FDL Public Library for $10. The
dinner menu features family recipes from Living a Country Year. Local guitarist, Daryl Rogers will
provide dinner entertainment. The
Jerry Apps program is free----no ticket needed. A book signing will follow the
