daylilyGardening with Daylilies

Nate Bremer, owner of Solaris Farms in Reedsville will present a free program at the Fond du Lac Public Library, Thursday, February 19, 6:00 pm, on how to grow daylilies.  The program is open to the public and will be held in the lower level McLane Meeting Room.  Refreshments will be served.  The program is co-sponsored by the library and the Green Thumb Garden Club of FDL.

Daylilies are many gardeners’ favorite plant.  They are easy to grow perennials that are prolific, colorful bloomers, and relatively free of pests and disease.  Daylilies grow in most soils, sun or light shade, and are tolerant of drought and flooding. They can range in height from 8 inches to 5 feet, and the flower can be as small as 2 inches or as large as 8 inches.

Nate has a Degree in Horticulture and specializes in hybridizing daylilies. He grows thousands of daylilies on his farm.  Visit his website for more information:  www.solarisfarms.com
